33.0 Patch Notes — 06/30/2025
Patch 33.0 goes live tomorrow, preparing the game for The Lost City of Un’Goro expansion, adding interactive Pets, new event content, Arena changes, Battlegrounds tweaks, and other improvements.
Release & Expansion Launch
Explore The Lost City of Un’Goro (Launch: July 8)
The Lost City of Un’Goro expansion releases on July 8 and contains 145 cards. It brings back Quests and introduces the new Kindred keyword among other features. A new Rewards Track will accompany the expansion with XP boosts, cards, Gold, packs, and more.

Pre-Release Tavern Brawl & Community Days
The Lost City of Un’Goro Pre-Release Tavern Brawl begins with Patch 33.0 and runs until the expansion launch on July 8. Players receive one free entry; additional entries cost 2 Tavern Tickets, 300 Gold, or 400 Runestones. In each run you lock a deck and play until you reach 6 wins or 3 losses to claim prizes.

The Pre-Release card pool includes the Core Set, Event Set, Into the Emerald Dream, Embers of the World Tree mini-set, and The Lost City of Un’Goro. Creature of Madness and Hamuul Runetotem are banned for this event. To support new Quests, the pool also temporarily includes some cards from other sets:
- Hunter: Painted Cavasaur, Toyrannosaurus
- Priest: Nightshade Tea, Orbital Halo, Silvermoon Brochure
- Rogue: Agency Espionage, Adaptive Amalgam
- Warlock: Sweetened Snowflurry, Sketch Artist
There’s an extended 5-day Community Days event to earn more packs for the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl.

Pets
King Krush — the first interactive Pet
Pets arrive in Hearthstone. King Krush is the initial interactive cosmetic companion that appears on the board and reacts to gameplay, emotes, and player interactions. You can pet, feed, or play with King Krush and earn XP to unlock alternate skins such as Crystal Krush and King Plush.

King Krush is part of the Darkmoon Faire Treasures random-pull system running July 8–29. The first pull is free; later pulls require Runestones. Each pull guarantees a new reward—no duplicates. The Darkmoon Faire offers Signature cards, Hero Skins, Pets, and more. (Darkmoon Faire Treasures is restricted to players 18+ and requires a Battle.net account.)

In-Game Event: The Lost City of Un’Goro
The in-game event runs July 8–29. Choose one of three explorers and complete their Event Quests to earn Event XP on that explorer’s rewards track. Quest objectives use Traditional Modes for completion (Standard, Wild, Casual, Arena, and Tavern Brawl).
Completing the rewards track grants:
- 6 The Lost City of Un'Goro Packs
- 3 Into the Emerald Dream Packs
- 3 Year of the Pegasus Packs
- 2 The Great Dark Beyond Packs
- 1 Perils in Paradise Pack
- 1 Hero Skin for the explorer you selected at the start of the event:
- Dino Wrangler Brann Skin
- Adventure Finley Skin
- Relic Hunter Reno Skin
The two Hero Skins you didn’t select will be available in the shop after the event ends.

Card Updates
Raptor Herald (Buffed)
Old: Battlecry: Discover a Beast with a Dark Gift.
New: Battlecry: Discover a Beast with a Dark Gift. Kindred: It costs (1) less.
Kindred reducing cost makes this card stronger in Kindred-focused decks.

Arena Updates
A new Arena season begins July 1 with Patch 33.0; all ongoing runs conclude and the season resets. This season features a curated card pool per class pulling from across sets. Lost City of Un’Goro cards will be added to the Arena pool one week before the expansion release (so they’ll appear in the Arena on July 1). New Quest cards from Un’Goro and some returning Quests will be draftable and include five support cards in their Legendary bucket.
Developer note: Underground Arena rewards were adjusted to make deep runs more rewarding and easier to recoup entry costs. The reward structure and Crowd’s Favor allocation were streamlined to improve gold and ticket payouts—this aims to restore more of the classic Arena “infinite run” feel. The team will monitor results and iterate if needed.
