33.2 Patch Notes — Battlegrounds Season 11: Echoes of Un'Goro
Battlegrounds Season 11 launches August 5 at 10:00 a.m. PT with The Lost City of Un'Goro content: a new Rally keyword, the return of Quests, a large minion refresh, a Guide feature, Dual-Class and Wild Heroic Tavern Brawls, a Hearthstone balance update, and more. When Season 11 begins, Anomalies and Trinkets will be removed from the Tavern.
The Echoes of Un’Goro Are Calling in Battlegrounds Season 11!
Season 11 brings Un'Goro-themed minions, Tavern spells, and systems to Battlegrounds. Read on for the major additions and changes.
New Keyword: Rally
Rally triggers an effect whenever a Rally minion attacks. This keyword appears mainly on Quilboar and Dragon minions this season, but it can show up on other types as well. Several existing minions have been updated to include Rally.
New Hero: Loh, the Living Legend
Loh will be available in every Battlegrounds game for the first two weeks of Season 11.

- Heroic Inspiration: Passive. After friendly minions attack 15 times, get your Hero's Welcome.
- Hero's Welcome [1 Gold]: Discover a Rally minion.
Hero Updates
Sire Denathrius will appear in every game for the first two weeks of the season. Sneed is unbanned from Undead lobbies. Several Hero Powers—Hydralisk (Kerrigan), Advanced Ballistics (Jim Raynor), and Colossus (Artanis)—now include Rally effects.
Mutanus (Adjusted)
Devour [0 Gold]
Old: Remove a friendly minion. Spit its stats onto another. Gain 1 Gold.
New: Sell a friendly minion. Spit its stats onto another.
Developer note: This change makes Devour use the "sell" action, so it will now trigger "When you sell this minion" effects.
Returning Mechanic: Quests
Quests return to Battlegrounds. On Turn 4 (the 6-Gold turn) you choose one of three Quests; completing it grants a powerful Reward that persists for the rest of the game.

- Assemble a Lineup: Summon 16 minions.
- Crack the Case: Have friendly minions attack 15 times.
- Cry for Help: Play 3 Battlecry minions.
- Dust for Prints: Add 22 cards to your hand.
- Fill the Cauldron: Cast 12 spells.
- Find the Murder Weapon: Increase a friendly minion’s stats 17 times.
- Follow the Money: Spend 30 Gold.
- Invite the Guests: Buy 6 minions.
- Pressure the Authorities: Get your warband to 35 total Attack.
- Reenact the Murder: Have 18 friendly minions die.
- Round Up the Suspects: Destroy 18 enemy minions.
- Unlikely Duo: Play 5 random minion type or random minion type.
Removed Quest
- Hire an Investigator: End your turn with unspent Gold 3 times.
Quest Rewards
The updated Quest pool includes 35 returning Rewards plus 13 new Rewards tied to the expanded minion pool and Rally interactions.
New Quest Rewards (select)
- Righteous Charge: Start of Combat: Your left-most minion gains Divine Shield and attacks immediately.
- Grim Freshener: Avenge (3): Gain a free Refresh.
- Smelting Chamber: At the start of each turn, make a friendly Tier 1 minion Golden and upgrade this.
- Untold Riches: Get a 7-Gold Coin Pouch. Increase your maximum Gold by 7.
- Golden Forge: At the start of each turn, make the highest-Tier minion in the Tavern Golden.
- Quaint Boutique / Jumbo Warehouse: Next turn gain 8 Gold and choose a Lesser/Greater Trinket to buy.
- Norgannon's Reward: Unlock Tier 7 this game. On the start of your next turn, upgrade the Tavern.
- Perpetual Incantation: Tavern spells that give stats grant an extra +1/+1 (can stack).
- Cosmic Reward: Discover a second Hero Power.
- Rallying Cry: Get a copy of a specific Rally minion; your Rallies trigger an extra time.

New Keyword for Pirates: Bounty
Pirates gain a new Bounty system. Bounties are Tier 3 Tavern spells exclusive to Pirate lobbies (five types, combined appearance rate equal to two regular Tavern spells). New Pirates can create Bounties and Proud Privateer can cash them in for large rewards.

Quality of Life: Battlegrounds Guide
A new in-match Guide (open from the lower-right) shows every minion and Tavern spell available in your lobby, grouped by Tier and type to help you plan drafts in real time.
Battlegrounds Combat Updates
Combat Matchmaking
- While all players are alive, you will now face each opponent once before repeating opponents.
- After a player dies or concedes, matchmaking reverts to the normal system but you cannot face the same living opponent for 3 rounds when possible (previously 2 rounds).
Combat Speed
- The maximum combat speed cap has been lowered.
Trinket Pool Changes
Several Trinkets have been removed from their pools. Removed Lesser Trinkets include Automaton Portrait, Bazaar Sticker, Beetle Band, and others. Removed Greater Trinkets include Beetle Band, Belcher Portrait, Boom's Monster Portrait, and additional items listed in the patch.
Battlegrounds Track Refresh
Season 10 ends and Season 11 begins on August 5; Battlegrounds Ratings will reset and the Season 11 Track will go live. Unclaimed Season 10 rewards that were earned will be automatically claimed.
The Season 11 Track features Underfel- and Dragon-themed cosmetics. The Season Pass instantly unlocks +2 Hero options at the start of each game and provides a progression track with a new Legendary Strike, extra Hero Skins, a new Bartender, and more. Season Pass + adds one included Hero re-roll per game.
Creator Early Access Event (with Drops)
On August 1, content creators will stream the new season live. Regional time slots:
- Americas, LATM, EMEA: August 1, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. PT
- JP: August 2, 2:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. PT
- CN: August 1, 7:00 p.m. PT – August 2, 7:00 a.m. PT
Twitch Drops are enabled category-wide: watch for 2 total hours to earn 4 Battlegrounds Tokens (1-hour increments per drop).
Hearthstone Updates — Balance Changes (Patch 33.2)
Developer note: The team made a small set of balance adjustments during this patch to slow some high-performing archetypes (Cycle Rogue and Agamaggan Warlock), modestly buff Quest Mage, and fix Quest Demon Hunter behavior. The team will monitor the meta and follow with further adjustments if needed.
Playhouse Giant (Nerfed)
Old: 20 mana.
New: 25 mana.
Cursed Catacombs (Nerfed)
Old: Discover a minion from your deck. Make it Temporary.
New: Discover another card from your deck. Make it Temporary.
Note: The above disenchantable cards are eligible for full dust refunds for two weeks after Patch 33.2.
The Forbidden Sequence (Buffed)
Old: Quest: Discover 8 cards. Reward: The Origin Stone.
New: Quest: Discover 7 cards. Reward: The Origin Stone.
Gorishi Colossus (Demon Hunter Quest reward) (Buffed)
Old: Effect only works on your turn.
New: Effect also works on opponent's turn.
Developer note: This change fixes a mismatch between the card text and how the effect behaved, improving clarity and usability.
Dual-Class Tavern Brawl
Runs August 13–20. Build a deck using cards from any two classes from any Standard expansion. Choose a primary class (determines your Hero Power) and one additional class to add cards from.
Wild Heroic Tavern Brawl
Runs August 6–13. Pay an entry fee and build a Wild deck from your collection. Play until 12 wins or 3 losses; prizes scale with performance.
In-Game Event: Umbra's Uprising!
Runs August 5–26. Complete co-op event quests (you earn progress when either you or your opponent completes criteria) to unlock rewards on the event track. Completing the track grants Staff of the Endbringer (regular and golden), 4 Lost City of Un'Goro packs, 2 random Epic cards from that set, and the King Bone Krusher Hero Skin.
Bonus In-Game Event: Lost City Fire Festival (One Week)
Runs August 26–September 2. Complete the event track to earn 2 Tavern Tickets, 2 Lost City of Un'Goro Packs, and 1 Lost City of Un'Goro Golden Pack.
Collection Manager
Some new cosmetics may appear in your client before they are purchasable in every region. Availability will roll out soon.
Bug Fixes and Game Improvements
- Fixed many card and visual bugs across Standard, Arena, Pets, and Battlegrounds (selected fixes include Mutating Lifeform lifesteal timing, Dormant minions and The Crystal Cove, drawing interactions, and several Battlegrounds-specific issues such as Champion of Sargeras buffing both allies and opponents).
- Multiple visual bugs were corrected (e.g., Sol'etos VFX, Niri of the Crater overlaps, Violet Treasuregill buff visuals).
- Various interactions and edge cases were fixed for Discover, Spellcraft, Deathrattle copying, and more—see the full list in the patch for details.
HSLeaderboard note: These Battlegrounds additions and Hearthstone tweaks should shake up the meta—expect new Rally synergies in Battlegrounds and modest shifts in Standard from the balance tweaks.
