34.6 Patch Notes
Patch 34.6 goes live today and begins the lead‑up to the next expansion, CATACLYSM. This update also includes balance changes across Standard, Arena, and Battlegrounds, plus events, new Battlegrounds content, and bug fixes.
CATACLYSM & Pre‑Purchase
CATACLYSM arrives March 17 and adds 135 new collectible cards, including the first Deathwing Hero Card, Colossals returning, and the new Herald and Shatter Keywords. Pre‑purchase bundles are available now.
Free Warmaster Blackhorn
Log in now to receive the Warmaster Blackhorn Legendary card for free (one per account). Note: after Patch 35.6, Warmaster Blackhorn will be granted when you open your first CATACLYSM pack instead of on login.
Events
From February 9 – March 17 the community Rally the Dragonflights event runs (see official CATACLYSM Rally Point for details). Completing community goals unlocks rewards like a free Legendary Ebyssian and Signature copies of Envoy of the End.
In‑Game Event: Wave 1 — Fire and Storm (Feb 10–24)
Ragnaros and Al’Akir lead the first assault. Participate to earn rewards including Sands of Time epics, Across the Timeways packs, Tavern Tickets, a Golden Across the Timeways pack, a CATACLYSM pack, and the Eternalflame Ragnaros hero skin.
In‑Game Event: Wave 2 — Death and Madness (Feb 24–Mar 17)
Onyxia and Cho’gall strike in the second wave. Rewards include Dark Iron Harbinger and Disciple of Demise epics, CATACLYSM packs, Tavern Tickets, and the Twilight Hammer Cho'gall hero skin.
New Legendary Quest Chain
A new Legendary Quest Chain is available in two parts (Feb 17–Mar 3 and Mar 3–17). Rewards earned through ranked play include Across the Timeways packs and CATACLYSM packs (both normal and Golden versions).

Splendiferous Whizbang decks received quality and focus updates across multiple classes (no single Old/New lines). These changes adjust deck composition, treasure counts, health, and other deck‑specific mechanics to make each Whizbang deck more coherent.
Arena Updates
The Taverns of Time Arena set has several adjustments, including draft frequency and individual card updates.

This patch adds a new hero, new minions and Tavern spells, multiple Timewarped cards, Anomaly updates, and more.
Heroes
New Hero — Morchie: Warped Conflux
Hero effect: On Turn 5, visit the Minor Timewarp. (4 turns left!)
Hero Update — Loh, the Living Legend
Loh has been redesigned with a new Hero Power and a new Buddy.
Hero Power: Heroic Inspiration — After 15 friendly minions attack, get a Triple Reward. (15 left!)
Buddy: Stoneshell Guardian — [Tier 5] 5 Attack / 5 Health. The first Triple Reward you play each turn Discovers from Golden minions. (1 left!)

Photobomber — [Tier 5, Mech] 6 Attack / 6 Health. Deathrattle: Deal 2 damage to the highest‑Health enemy minion. (Improved by Tavern spells you've cast this game!)
Azsharan Veteran — [Tier 5, Naga] 4 Attack / 4 Health. Spellcraft: Give your minions +2 Attack / +1 Health. Repeat for each Bonus Keyword in your warband.
Stellar Freebooter — [Tier 4, Pirate] 8 Attack / 4 Health. Taunt. Deathrattle: Give a friendly minion Health equal to this minion's Attack.
Eternal Tycoon — [Tier 5, Undead] 2 Attack / 7 Health. Avenge (5): Summon an Eternal Knight. It attacks immediately.
Changed Minions & Golden Behavior
Lava Lurker — [Tier 2, Naga] 2 Attack / 5 Health. The first Spellcraft spell played from hand on this each turn is permanent. (1 left!)
Defiant Shipwright — [Tier 2, Pirate] 2 Attack / 5 Health. Whenever this gains Attack from other sources, gain +1 Health.
Dev note: Golden versions of Pirates that give stats now trigger the regular effect twice (instead of doubling). This supports interactions with Shore Marauder.
Gunpowder Courier — [Tier 4, Pirate] 2 Attack / 6 Health. Whenever you spend 6 Gold, give your Pirates +2 Attack. (6 Gold left!)
Cannon Corsair — [Tier 6, Pirate] 3 Attack / 8 Health. After you gain Gold, give your Pirates +1 Attack / +2 Health.
Fleet Admiral Tethys — [Tier 6, Pirate] 5 Attack / 6 Health. After you spend 10 Gold, get a random Pirate. (10 left!)
The announcement lists many Pirates whose Golden variants were updated to trigger the effect twice (examples include Underhanded Dealer, Peggy Sturdybone, Timecap'n Hooktail, Plankwalker, Yorik Smite, Ship Master Eudora, and others).
Returning Minions (selected)
Several minions return to the pool, including Buzzing Vermin, Forest Rover, Turquoise Skitterer, Silky Shimmermoth, Bubble Gunner, Shoalfin Mystic, Gormling Gourmet, Hackerfin, and more.
Minions Returning With Changes (selected)
Unleashed Mana Surge — [Tier 5, Elemental] 5 Attack / 3 Health. After you play an Elemental, give your Elementals +1 Attack / +1 Health.
Apprentice of Sefin — [Tier 4, Murloc] 4 Attack / 4 Health. At the end of your turn, gain +2 Attack / +2 Health and a random Bonus Keyword.
Showy Cyclist — [Tier 5, Naga] 4 Attack / 3 Health. Deathrattle: Give your Naga +2 Attack / +2 Health. (Improved by every 4 spells you've cast this game!)
Removed Minions (selected)
A number of minions were removed from the Battlegrounds pool this patch (full list in the official notes), including Manasaber, Ship Master Eudora, Reef Explorer, Sewer Rat, Sly Raptor, Goldrinn, the Great Wolf, and many others.
New Tavern Spells
Time Snap — [Tier 6] [2 Gold] Discover a 1‑Cost minion from the Major Timewarp.
Menagerie Tableware — [Tier 7] [4 Cost] Give your minions +3 Attack / +3 Health. Repeat for each different friendly minion type.
Timewarped Tavern & Timewarp Cards
The Timewarped Minor and Major Timewarp pools gain many new cards, plus Chronum costs for several new Timewarped minions and spells. New Minor and Major Timewarp offerings include Timewarped Zerus, Traveler, Chimera, Nest Swarmer, Icky Imp, Stone Drake, Trumpeter, Swirler, and many others (see the list for full details).
Anomalies
Anomalies return and several new ones are added, such as Major/Minor Goldthorn Potion, Boon of Chronum, Major Waygate, Twisting Hourglass, Oathstone's Summoning, Unforeseen Portal, and Darkmoon Faire Prizes anomaly.
Darkmoon Faire Treasures — Hogger & Varian
Darkmoon Faire Treasures returns with Hogger (pet) and the Lion’s Landing Varian Mythic Skin (Warrior/Hunter) featured. Mainland China run: Feb 9 10:00 a.m. PST – Mar 10 10:00 a.m. PDT. Other regions run: Feb 17 10:00 a.m. PST – Mar 10 10:00 a.m. PDT.
Hogger is a selectable pet with XP progression and three unlockable skins (Pirate, Corrupted, God of Wealth). Earn XP by performing actions with Hogger active, such as feeding treats, playing certain card types, summoning Taunt minions, and winning Battlegrounds rounds.
Bug Fixes & Gameplay Improvements
Hearthstone
- Fixed multiple visual bugs with Signature cards and Deathrattle visuals.
- Fixed issues involving Rewind interactions, Spell Damage persistence after rewinds, and a lethal tooltip showing with infinite armor.
- Fixed several card interaction bugs, including Muradin / Mega‑Windfury and Timelooper Toki behavior.
Arena
- Fixed Vuja De Discover behavior, Timebound Giant's Elemental tag, and Iron Juggernaut's missing bucket visual.
Battlegrounds
- Improved Buff tooltip support for all minion types and added Hand Protection to Treasure Hoard Anomaly.
- Fixed many bugs across Timewarped interactions, Golden minion doubling, Spellcraft permanence on Lava Lurker, and multiple other issues listed in the official notes.
On HSLeaderboard, these changes are likely to shake up the top ladder decks and alter Battlegrounds strategies heading into CATACLYSM.
