Hearthstone Patch 36.4 launches tomorrow, adding the Escape from Violet Hold Class Set: Azeroth’s Most Wanted, a new Arena season, limited-time rewards, the returning World Championship Tavern Brawl, Lich Lord Kel'Thuzad cosmetics, and bug fixes.
Azeroth’s Most Wanted Class Sets
Azeroth’s Most Wanted introduces seven-card Class Sets for four classes:
- Priest: Reborn Priest
- Rogue: Stealth Rogue
- Warlock: Kabal Warlock
- Warrior: Pirate Warrior
The sets also feature the new Follow cards and serve as a prequel to Escape from Violet Hold.
Each Class Set contains seven cards: 1 Legendary, 2 Epics, 2 Rares, and 2 Commons. These cards can be opened in Escape from Violet Hold packs, crafted with dust, or purchased directly.

The returning World Championship Tavern Brawl lets players use decks previously piloted by Hearthstone World Champions. The 2026 Hearthstone World Championship will take place September 12-13 at BlizzCon.

Battle.net Shop Rewards and Offers
From August 25 - September 15, players can claim a free Escape from Violet Hold gift from the Battle.net Shop each week. A new reward becomes available every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
Starting August 25, the Battle.net Shop will offer the Legendary Mob Boss Valeera Bundle one week before its in-game release. The returning Legendary Sylvanas, Ranger General Bundle will also be available, along with the combined Legendary Mob Boss Valeera & Legendary Sylvanas, Ranger General Bundle.
Lich Lord Kel'Thuzad Mythic Hero Skin
September 8 – October 13
Lich Lord Kel'Thuzad will be available through Darkmoon Faire Treasures for both Mage and Death Knight. The Mythic Hero Skin has two interchangeable appearances, The Necromancer and The Lich. During a turn, players can switch forms through the “Transform” option on the Emote Wheel. Transforming includes custom animation and visual effects.
The skin also includes The Phylactery, a reactive board-corner feature that gains power as minions take damage and die. Its stored energy changes the presentation of the Mage and Death Knight Hero Powers, including Fireblast and Ghoul Charge. Equipping a Pet replaces The Phylactery in the board corner.
Additional features include a custom portrait, entrance animation, victory and defeat sequences, visual effects, sound effects, and board interactions.
More Kel'Thuzad-themed content is planned for Patch 36.6. Every feature included with this Mythic Hero Skin is cosmetic and has no gameplay effect.
Darkmoon Faire Treasures is a random-pull system containing rewards such as Pets, Mythic Skins, Signature cards, and Hero Skins. The first pull is free, while later pulls cost Runestones. Each pull awards a prize, and prices change when the available prize collection rotates.
Bug Fixes
Hearthstone
- Shadow of Demise can no longer be played when drawn by The Kingslayers.
- Deathborne now summons the correct number of Volatile Skeletons when cast twice by Breakout Architect.
- Mystic Misdirection no longer cancels Baroness Vashj's attack.
- Corrected the interaction in which Objection! could trigger before Double Cross and prevent Double Cross from resolving properly.
- Violet Punisher now correctly steals and transfers keyword effects in the affected situations.
- R4T-C4TCH3R can no longer exceed the deck-size limit when used with Sonya Shadowdancer.
- Removed unintended animation icons from Sherazin, Corpse Flower, Khadgar, and Vanessa VanCleef.
- Corrected Starfall's visual effects on the opponent's side of the board.
- Corrected Arch-Villain Rafaam's visual effects.
- Hallazeal the Ascended's Lifesteal now works with Cast When Drawn spells.
- Matches now end immediately when Tiny Pal defeats a player.
- Cards under the cursor are now highlighted in the Discover interface.
- Restored the missing animation for Golden Zuramat the Obliterator.
Battlegrounds
- Huntmaster no longer receives unintended buffs from Timewarped Jungle King.
- Cards will no longer be destroyed during a purchase when another card enters the player's hand first.
- Inductive Gyroblade, Flighty Portrait, and Lionfish Portrait can now be obtained through Orb of the Unknown.
- Multiple Cho'gall Stickers now grant multiple Triple Rewards.
- Winner's Bread now gives stats to Tavern minions after a winning round.
- Highwayman Marin now displays the correct hero portrait.
Cosmetics
- Restored the Qixi Turalyon Hero Skin's missing victory effect for clearing enemy minions.
- Corrected how Underfel Rift's gem clasp effect blends with other on-screen effects.
- The Priest hero no longer becomes motionless while attacking with the Maiev, Hand of Vengeance Hero Skin.
- Corrected the Mathias Shaw Hero Skin overlapping its frame border.
- Irida Sinseeker now displays visual effects when drawing cards from the Void.
- Improved the readability of response emote text when using the Imprisoned Lana'thel Hero Skin.
General and Mobile
- Fixed a mobile freeze that could occur when several end-of-turn healing effects resolved at the same time.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when entering Practice Mode on mobile for the first time.
