Battlegrounds Season 14: Dark Gifts of Dalaran begins with Patch 36.2 on August 4 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The season introduces Dark Gifts, the Activate keyword, two Heroes, more than 60 new minions, additional Tavern Spells, and an expanded Trinket pool.
Dark Gifts Gameplay System
Beginning on Turn 3, players can spend 3 Gold through the Dark Gift button to Discover a minion carrying a Dark Gift. Each of the three offered minions comes with a different Gift.
- More than 40 Dark Gifts will be available.
- Gifts can provide stats, keywords, or other effects.
- The Dark Gift button can be used once per turn.
- Each player can use it up to 3 times per game.
- The offered minions and Gifts improve on later turns, rewarding players who wait.

Nightmare Lord Xavius — Feel Devastation
Xavius provides access to powerful Dark Gifts.
Tras'tath, Soul Parasite — Void Power
Tras'tath lets players reserve a future Tier 5 minion carrying a Dark Gift.
New Keyword: Activate
Activate abilities can be triggered during the Recruit Phase by spending Gold. Click an Activate minion while it is in your warband to use its ability. Each ability can be activated once per turn.

Pirate Synergy: Lockbox
Pirates can uncover Lockboxes containing Golden minions. The minion remains locked until a later turn unless the player can release it early.

Fishbait enables Beasts to attack during the Recruit Phase. The Beast that takes the bait receives a reward after its meal.

General Gameplay Updates
Venomous (Adjusted)
Fishbait creates attacks during the Recruit Phase, so Venomous will now track its destruction effect separately for each combat.
- Old: Destroy the first minion this deals damage to.
- New: Destroy the first minion this deals damage to each combat.
Chromadrake (Nerfed)
Chromadrakes are leaving the Tavern pool, although certain minions and Trinkets can still generate them.
- Old: One of five Tier 3 Dragons with various Battlecries.
- New: One of five Dragons with various Battlecries.
Large Stat Display
Attack and Health values containing four or more digits will now use a condensed display to keep large warbands readable.
Season 14 Rewards Track
Season 13 ends and Season 14 begins on August 4. Battlegrounds Ratings will reset and the Rewards Track will refresh. Earned but unclaimed Season 13 rewards will be claimed automatically.
The Season Pass immediately unlocks +2 Hero options at the start of each game. Its track contains the Escape from Dalaran Legendary Strike, 13 additional Hero Skins, Vanessa VanCleef as a new Bartender, and other cosmetics. Season Pass + includes every Season Pass reward and one Hero re-roll per game.

Participating creators will give away Battlegrounds Season Pass + codes. Category-wide Twitch Drops award 4 Battlegrounds Tokens after two total hours watched, with one drop earned per hour.
