Escape from Violet Hold Is Live

Escape from Violet Hold is now available in Hearthstone. The expansion adds 135 new collectible cards, with a jailbreak theme built around Legendary Rulebreakers, the new Prepare keyword, Disguised minions, and Bribe cards.

For HSLeaderboard readers, the main things to watch are the new deckbuilding payoffs from Rulebreakers, the mana-planning decisions created by Prepare, and the board-positioning choices introduced by Disguised minions.

Legendary Rulebreakers

Each class receives a Legendary Rulebreaker minion in this expansion. These cards are designed around breaking a usual Hearthstone rule or expectation, giving every class a signature build-around option.

New Keyword: Prepare

Prepare lets players invest unused mana into a card for a later turn. When you drag a Prepare card into your deck, you spend all remaining mana to Prepare it. That reduces the card’s cost by that amount, plus one.

This creates delayed tempo swings: instead of using the card right away, you can bank mana now and play the discounted card later.

Disguised Minions

Disguised minions introduce a major board-state twist: they can be played onto your opponent’s side of the board. You can still play them normally for your own benefit, but sending them across the board can disrupt the opponent instead.

  • Play on your side: use the minion’s ability for yourself.
  • Play on the opponent’s side: use the minion to interfere with their board or game plan.

Bribe Cards

Bribe cards offer strong effects with a tradeoff: when you play one, your opponent also receives something in return. Expect these cards to reward timing and matchup awareness.

Escape from Violet Hold Tavern Pass

The Escape from Violet Hold Tavern Pass is also available alongside the expansion. It includes expansion packs, XP boosts, cosmetics, cards, and additional rewards.
