Reign of the Black Empire card reveals will run across two weeks, followed by regional Theorycrafting sessions, Community Days, and a Pre-Release Tavern Brawl. Beginning with Patch 36.6, players can also collect free packs, cards, cosmetics, Tavern Tickets, and other rewards.
Card Reveal Schedule
The reveal season covers classes aligned with the Old Gods during Week 1 before shifting to the Titan-forged classes and live broadcasts in Week 2.
Week 1: Old Gods Classes
- Tuesday, September 15: C’Thun-themed reveals on Hearthstone social channels.
- Wednesday, September 16: Death Knight and Rogue reveals, featuring Rainbow and Combo themes.
- Thursday, September 17: Demon Hunter and Priest reveals, with Rush and Shadow themes.
- Friday, September 18: Shaman and Warlock conclude the week, including a Zoo theme.
Week 2: Titan-forged Classes
Week 2 includes social reveals and live broadcasts on Twitch and YouTube with creators and members of the Hearthstone development team.
- Monday, September 21 — Warrior: Warrior reveals will appear on Hearthstone social channels, including a Titan Keeper and magical discs.
- Tuesday, September 22 — Mage: Hosted by Raven with Frodan and McBanterFace. Developers: Lucas “Bionic Door” Waitkuweit and Edward “Gallon” Goodwin. Starts at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
- Wednesday, September 23 — Paladin: Hosted by Raven with Edelweiss and Dekkster. Developers: Cora Georgiou and Ben Paulsen. Starts at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
- Thursday, September 24 — Druid: Hosted by Raven with NoHandsGamer and Redbeard. Developers: Sage Georgiou and Nicholas “DeckTech” Weiss. Starts at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
- Friday, September 25 — Hunter: Hosted by Raven with Brian Kibler and Reqvam. Developers: Stephen “Puffin” Chang and Steve Rubin. Starts at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
Reveal Stream Drops
Drops will be active on Hearthstone’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Reign of the Black Empire Theorycrafting
Theorycrafting expands into a multi-day early-access event, with participating creators testing new decks and card interactions from their own channels.
Devs vs. Streamers
Team Dev and Team Streamer will compete throughout Theorycrafting. Every five victories by Team Streamer unlock surprise rewards for randomly selected participants to share with their communities. Developers will join during the opening play session.
Drops will be available by watching any stream in the Hearthstone category.
- NA/LATAM/EMEA: October 6 from 8:00 a.m. PDT to 1:00 p.m. PDT, and October 7 from 12:00 p.m. PDT to 6:00 p.m. PDT.
- APAC: October 7 from 2:00 a.m. PDT to 8:00 a.m. PDT.
- CN: October 8-9 from 4:00 p.m. PDT to 8:00 a.m. PDT.
Theorycrafting participants will broadcast from their own channels.
The Old God’s Gauntlet
- Dates: October 8-9.
- Hosts: Rarran and DaneHearth.
- The two-day gauntlet will use custom rules.
TheoryCasting Coverage
Raven, Sottle, Edelweiss, and Lorinda will cover the Theorycrafting sessions, including the Devs vs. Streamers competition. An on-stream score tracker will follow the result.
Watching any stream in the Hearthstone category during Theorycrafting can award:
- 1x Reign of The Black Empire Pack on October 6 after 60 minutes of watch time.
- 1x Reign of the Black Empire Pack on October 7 after 60 minutes of watch time.
Community Days
Hearthstone Community Days run from October 13 at 10:00 a.m. PDT until October 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
Watching participating Hearthstone streams during the event can award up to:
- 3x Standard Packs.
- 2x Tavern Tickets.
Pre-Release Tavern Brawl
The Reign of the Black Empire Pre-Release Tavern Brawl is available from October 13 at 10:00 a.m. PDT until October 20 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
- Decks may contain only Reign of the Black Empire cards.
- All Common and Rare cards from the expansion are available as free Trial Cards during the event.
- Players select from predefined multi-class combinations before building a deck.
- Most choices combine three classes.
- One special two-class combination provides enhanced C'Thun synergies.
The Trial Common and Rare cards are usable only in this event and are not permanently added to a player’s collection. They can be collected normally by opening Reign of the Black Empire packs.

Free Login Legendary
- Reward: M.O.T.H.E.R. Legendary Card.
- Requirement: Log in.
- Availability: Starting September 15.
- Limit: One per account.
- After Patch 37.6, M.O.T.H.E.R. will be granted when the account owns its first Reign of the Black Empire pack rather than upon login.
The Black Market
Play Ranked Hearthstone to earn the limited-time Bloodstones currency, which can be spent on the following rewards:
- 1x Reign of the Black Empire Pack, with a stock of 4.
- Taelan Fordring Signature Legendary Card.
- Broxigar Hero Skin and Card Back for Demon Hunter.

“The War of Old & New” In-Game Event
Complete event quests for “The War of Old & New” from October 6-20 to earn:
- 2x Arrival of the Old Gods, including regular and Golden versions.

- 2x Dark Terraforming, including regular and Golden versions.
- 2x Tavern Tickets.
- Zek’voz Hero Skin for Priest Class.
Reign of the Black Empire Journey — Chapter 1: The Road to Ny’alotha
- Reward: 1x Reign of the Black Empire Pack for each part of The Road to Ny’alotha, for a total of 7 packs.
- Requirement: Complete each unlocked part of Chapter 1 — The Road to Ny’alotha.
- A new part unlocks weekly for 7 weeks.
- Previously unlocked parts remain available through Patch 38.0.
- Availability: Starting October 13 until Patch 38.0.
Signature Card Collector Achievements
These “Reign of the Black Empire Legendary Collector” Achievements become available starting October 13:
- Collect 15 different Reign of the Black Empire Legendary cards: 2x Signature Tank Regiment Rare Cards.
- Collect 27 different Reign of the Black Empire Legendary cards: 2x Signature Blind Harrower Rare Cards and 2x Signature Efflorescence Common Cards.
Chaos Coin Collector Achievement
- Reward: Chaos Coin.
- Requirement: Complete the “Bow Down Mortals” achievement by collecting 135 different Reign of the Black Empire cards.
- Availability: Starting October 13.
Pre-Release Tavern Brawl Trial Cards
- Reward: Temporary access to every Reign of the Black Empire Common and Rare card as a Trial Card.
- Requirement: Play the Reign of the Black Empire Pre-Release Tavern Brawl.
- Availability: October 13-20.
Trial Cards may be used only for this event and are not permanently added to the collection. Players can obtain the cards for their collections through Reign of the Black Empire packs.
Pre-Release Champion Achievement
- Rewards: 2x Tavern Tickets and 1x Reign of the Black Empire Pack.
- Requirement: Complete “Reign of the Black Empire Pre-Release Champion” by finishing a Pre-Release Tavern Brawl run with 6 wins.
- Availability: October 13-20.
Pre-Release Pro Achievement
- Reward: Godlike Brawler Card Back.
- Requirement: Complete “Reign of the Black Empire Pre-Release Pro” by going undefeated with a 6-0 result in the Reign of the Black Empire Pre-Release Tavern Brawl.
